Digital Tactical Table (DTT)

Air Force, Joint Forces

The Digital Tactical Table is intended to train commanders on high level operational planning procedures, replacing the use of sand tables and scaled models.

The solution has a centralized database containing deployable entities (scaled models) and digital terrain databases (sand tables). Each networked Tactical Table and Operator/Development Station allows the user to select a terrain database along with its associated 2D maps and satellite imagery. Once the map is selected, the operator can add entities from the database such as aircraft, land vehicles, ships, submarines, and buildings to build the tactical picture. The tactical scenario can be saved back to the centralized database and loaded on to other networked Tactical Table and Operator/Development Stations.

The design of the system is scalable and will support adding additional Tactical Tables and Operator/Development Stations.
